The Message 1976

The film *The Message* (also known as *Muhammad, Messenger of God*) chronicles the life of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH), spanning the period from his divine calling at the age of forty until his passing. To portray this story worthily and do justice to the history of early Islam, director Moustapha Akkad enlisted a cast and crew of distinguished and talented professionals. Perhaps his most significant strategy—which contributed to the film’s global recognition—was the blending of historical and epic genres to create this monumental, three-hour cinematic work.
